The Hoping Tree looks like a children’s book, but it’s really for adults. It’s a fable about my struggle with chronic and acute illnesses. And it’s the first book in the Stories of My Life series.
Early feedback was incredibly positive. And very humbling. And I think it’s because the book was written to mirror other people’s stories and hopes, rather than just mine.
From 2022-2024, I wrote and polished it in a pickup truck (where I still live in due to illnesses). So my original plans were to publish in 2024—but for nearly a year I was repeatedly struck down by complications from my illnesses, homelessness, day-to-day struggles to merely survive, and keeping my sick and elderly mother alive.
I still have emergencies and surgeries to work through, but as of January 20, I have a few months window of time to get things done. And now I’m shooting for a March 2025 release of The Hoping Tree.
I plan to give this book freely to those who gain comfort and strength from it but can’t afford it. The chronically ill (like me) are often penniless after spending everything on doctors and treatments.
I know it’s just a book, but sharing even little bits of hope to the suffering is so important to me. Besides, if TragicHappy works out, the book will become a key to an even greater hope (see Mission and Mini-Manifesto).
Finally, once published, there will be one (secret) day when the Kindle version will be free on Amazon. Newsletter subscribers will be sent the secret date so they can get theirs free on that day.
Thank you for your patience and support.
