01 First Status Update

3 MIN READ.

Unfortunately, I don’t have good news today. This post is mostly boring, dry data.

The past week was hard, and today is worse.

Vitals

  • Vitals (BP, BPM, Blood O2, EKG, temp) are within range.
  • Weight: 119 pounds (down from 122 weeks ago).
  • Sleep:  Sleep is impossible aside from broken cat naps. Two broken hours of sleep in the past 24 hours. Average is 3.5 hours. I postponed my doctor’s appointment. Too dangerous to drive 1.5 hours sleepy.

Pain

  • 7 or 8 today (on a 0-10 scale). Pain can’t be ignored.
  • Pain meds I can’t take: NSAIDs (chronic gastritis/ulcers). Opioids (causes severe dyspnea). Cannabis (doesn’t work).

Symptoms

Current and not comprehensive.

  1. Acute Symptoms (from progressive jaw osteomyelitis). Possibly life threatening. Ordered from worst to least.
    1. Sepsis-like upper body inflammation. A smoldering, electric furnace in my heart with waves of shocks and burns radiating through my extremities. This jolts me awake every time I fall asleep. It’s brutal.
    2. Localized, throbbing soreness (like a cavity, but not). Itching and sharp twinges along left mandible, ramus, and ear. The affected area steadily grows in size.
    3. Sensitivity and taste of batteries/blood along the lower left gum line margins (at site of bone infection).
    4. New symptoms:
      1. Mild intermittent chest pains. Monitor for endocarditis risk.
      2. Sudden, sharp pinpricks on toes and fingers. Infrequent. Monitor.
    5. Mild heat on entire left face and left ear (osteomyelitis sites).
    6. Joint and bone pain on upper arms, shoulders, and toes.
    7. Slight dyspnea (labored breathing). Monitor.
    8. Sleep deprivation pain. Very hard to describe. It’s a cobweb-y tightness in all organs that only tensing of all muscles can temporarily relieve. A very unique pain that can reach nightmarish levels.
    9. Left ear tinnitus (by osteomyelitis site). Extremely loud, like a field of crickets and cicadas, but not painful.
  2. Chronic symptoms (from all other diseases). Not life threatening. However, the inflammation worsens the osteomyelitis.
    1. Skin burning on upper body and head (mycotoxins? gadolinium?). Can mitigate with frequent showers, toxin avoidance, etc.
    2. Pressurized headache. Feels like air is pumped into my “puffy” skull. (Mycotoxin/toxin reactivity). Semi-controllable.
    3. Poor memory and recall. 80% of the time I can’t recall why I picked up my phone, walked into a room, opened the fridge, opened my laptop, etc. Doing anything takes much longer than usual.

My Limitations

  • Extreme toxin avoidance protocols (ETAP) forces me to live alone in Dover far away from friend/family. After extensive searches, Dover was the only apartment and town that felt tolerable to me.
  • No furniture due to ETAP except for essentials (medical equipment, disposable/portable gear). I sleep on the floor.
  • When sick like today, I hide in my bedroom 23/7. All other rooms feel toxic to me now. Outside doesn’t feel good either.
  • Shower 2 or 3 times a day (“decontamination” ETAP).
  • Clothes sadly are semi-disposable. Pains me to be un-environmental. I wash and re-wear them until they become too toxic. Dependent on sales/clearance items at Walmart. I’ve stopped caring about style.
  • ETAP for self-decontamination is to shower with a fresh towel and a fresh change of clothes. I bring these as a kit with me in a tote wherever I go. I only go into a building if (1) I’ve tested it as safe, (2) I can safely shower with my kit before leaving, or (3) there’s an emergency/exception.
  • Hugs sadly are generally disallowed.
  • Exercise intolerant (causes me to crash), but I can take walks.
  • Absolutely no sugar, gluten, caffeine, alcohol, or dairy.
